Hey guys,

I will get my x51v on tuesday probably. I just wanted to ask if I have to somehow enable VGA on that device? Ive read about VGA enabling and stuff.

And should I do some updates? Where do I get them? From DELL?

No, you don't need to enable VGA; it's already VGA out of the box. And yes, the Dell updates are from Dell. I believe the latest update is A12 but I'm not 100% sure. Here's an upgrade tutorial:

ROM A12 is the latest update from Dell. When doing this update however MAKE SURE you read the thread about the correct process to use that is listed on this site. It is very detailed and you should follow that detail exactly. Some have reported here that they have bricked their unit. This process detailed on this site will not produce that results if followed. ROM A12 upgrade for me resulted in solutions of every issue I was having with my X51V and A06 revision. A12 is worth the effort to do its installation correctly.

If you want TRUE VGA, then yes, you'll need to 'enable' it. But I wouldn't recommend it, unless you truly want it.

As for updates: A12 Rom is the latest (check to make sure your device has this). There are some other driver updates, but they're not critical.
