Dropped! No screen response

So dropped my x51v and now everything works but the touchscreen. I can connect via a desktop program and operate all the functions and the screen shows no sign of damage at all. Just nothing when I try and select something. Sounds like I must have knocked something loose. Guess I will have to go in and see if I can see anything unless someone has another idea. Also anyone have a link to instructions on how to open the case?

You don't say whether the buttons work or not. If they don't, it could be as simple as the lock switch.

Exactly the same thing here, although I did not drop it or anything else, the screen just do not response anymore suddenly, and the buttons works fine. Have tried to reinstall the WM, and was stuck at the initial screen when the device as you to tap the screen to get start.

Talked with dell support, they say only thing they could do is replace it, since out of warranty, wonder if anyone have experiences to fix likely problems by self.

This happened to me after a fall from about 1m to the concrete floor. My Ax was in a hard-case. I found it was the screen protector that was constantly pressing the screen... or the action of removing the screen protector cleared the fault as when peeling it off it puts some upwards pressure on the screen... weird, but fixed it for me.

Well finally got my T5 torx drive and got the unit open. After removing the two ribbon cables and putting it all back together IT WORKS!! :-D

Don't give up if you have this happen to you and all seems ok as is probably a loose connection.
