Lower half of Screen dead

Hi, The lower half of the screen on my X51v is so blurry, that nothing can be read. Can anyone tell me what the problem might be? BTW, warranty expired...
Thanx

Well, there's a problem I haven't seen yet. Do you have a picture?

If your LCD is bad it costs $80 to get a new one off ebay.

Have you tried a hard reset to confirm it's a hardware problem?

Yes, I hard reset it a couple of times already but, the problem persist.

For sure, is a problem with the LCD, I just don't know if I need to buy just the digitalizer, or the whole LCD (which is expensive), I don't really want to spend too much money, I'seen the whole LCD costs around $200.

Try cleaning the connectors.

From the picture, if it is the LCD that's faulty (and not the board or something), then you'd need to replace the whole LCD. The digitiser is just a piece of touch-sensitive glass basically, I don't think it could affect the image displayed by the LCD underneath in the way you've described.

Have you tried turning on Mirror mode? Start -> Settings -> System -> Mirror? I think you can also get to it from the "Home" thing if you can't get to settings. When mirror mode is turned on it does some weird stuff to the graphics chip, I just am curious as to whether it would make the image appear any differently.

I did tryMirror Mode but the problem remains.

I'll try opening the unit and cleaning the connectors, as recommended by Gigi, that might fix it. I want to try all possible solutions before buying the LCD. I'm trying to find the right tools (T5) in a local store.
