Needs to lower resolution on X51V

Hi everyone,

Odd question but, How do I lower the resolution on a X51V?, to my understanding it has a VGA screen 640x480, at work we have an application that was designed for the previous x51 qvga.

I edited the registry and change the display settings to half of the resolution but that did not cut the trick. I am using PHMRegistry Editor and changing the settings at \HKLM\Drivers\Display\PowerVR , I am changing Height and Width. Am I missing something?, Does anybody knows how can I lower the resolution and get it to QVGA.
I asked the programmers of the application but they can not and will not do anything to reprogram this thing for VGA, so my option are limited to swap the x51v units for x51 with whoever may have them, or may be return them or I do not know what else.

Please help.
Thanks everyone.

The application in question in question should just work. You shouldn't need to change anything to make it work.

For the most part, and don't quote me on this, my understanding is that that unit mostly runs in qvga, with the exception of apps that are vga and then it uses that mode, but that the today screen and everything else is only running in qvga anyway. (Hence the need for apps and hacks like VGA Toggle to turn on VGA in some place?)

Anyway, the app should run just fine either way as long as it's compatible with WM5. (Not knowing if you are having problems or how old the app is, I thought I would throw that in.)

In the x50v's manual, it said that programs that werent compatible with vga, would be double pixeled, so they would take up the whole screen, but look a little poorer quality.

This should be the same on the x51v.

Yeap, the problem that I am having with the application is that on the X51v the application shows up just on a quater of the screen, split the screen in 4 and place the app on the upper left part of the screen, that is what I am having. On the X51 the application runs just fine full screen.

The issue is that I have 20 units x51 working fine and I have 10 units X51V that needs to work fine as well. I am wondering if I can make this happen or I would have to take my chances with Dell and try to return them. (THe company bought them few months back)

The application is compatible with WM 5, we have the same WM5 on all working units, the only difference I have found is the screen. I tried reinstalling new drivers to it but I did not work either.
