Aximsitebluetoothicon Axim x51 will not connect via Bluetooth

I am trying to connect my Axim x51 to my laptop via Bluetooth.

On the Laptop
- BlueSoleil USB Dongle from IVT Corporation
- Passkey defined
- Axim x51 is discovered by the Bluetooth Manager

Axim x51 PDA
- Partnership set
- Passkey defined
- Outgoing port defined

Problem

When I check Serial Port on Axim and tap Refresh, the hour glass is on for a while and is back with the Serial Port box unchecked.

In the meanwhile I get two messages (Bluetooth Manager) on the Laptop

First : Remote Device (Axim) has connected to my Serial Port A(COM7) Service!
Second : Remote Device (Axim) has disconnected from my Serial Port A(COM7) Service!

What I have tried

- Turn off the firewall
- Tried to connect using a different PC
- Used the Axim default Passkey (1234)
- Changed the security level to Low

To me it looks like the problem lies with AXIM. Any help will be appreciated

Thanks

Sabir

This might help a bit! If you are trying to use BT for sync you will first need to set up partnership via usb.

There is also this guide which I'm pretty sure I used to get BT syncing working with my X51v.

One point I'll add: even after getting the partnership set up, about half the time when I select the 'Menu' and 'Connect via Bluetooth' option in AS, the connection fails and a couple of different error messages are given. Regardless of the error, simply going Menu/Connect via Bluetooth again will usually make the connection. Rarely I need to repeat it a third time.

Sabir, your problem is likely with your computer. You need to see ActiveSync and Serial Port as services being offered. Go back to your Bluetooth device manager. Make sure Activesyn and Serial Port are on automatic at startup and secured.
