Hi, I am enduro rider and using my Axim x51 for GPS guidance last time in the forest when I have crossed the river my Axim get wet. I have succeeded to dry the device and the device started to work well then I have put back my CF card and the X51 WM5 stop responding I have done hard reset and the result is that my Axim is showing dell blue boot screen. Tried to load ROM image from SD card but cannot get in this mode. Please Help!!!!

Usually water & electronics do not mix. Try PPC Techs.

I heard to day that if you happen to drop your cell phone in the toilet not to try & turn it on. Take the battery out & stick the phone in a baggy of rice.

They also said if you want to dry it out really quick you can use kitty litter.

Making sure it is REALLY dry is the key. If it was just regular water (not salt water) then you have a better shot at getting it back. Take the battery out. Put the unit either in a sunny window or in front of an air conditioner vent for a couple of days. You can also use a heat lamp but be careful not to over heat the pda. You want it to be warm and dry and packing it in kitty litter or dry rice might help but I think I would also keep it warm by sunlight or some other artificial way. It should never get too hot to touch. Water can hide in the unit very well and it can literally take 2-3 days of drying it to get it back. You may still have some issues depending on how much junk got inside but hopefully you can recover it. Good luck.
