I bought a axim 51v and had an old mini ipod. The hard drive is good so i yanked it out to use with my axim. What do I have to do format it so axim will recognize it.

The X51V will not recognize the hard drive. This has been a well documented issue at this site for quite some time. Do a 'search' of the threads at this site and you will find lots of information on why this particular type of hard drive will not work as well as the type of hard drive that will work.
