Help-cannot reboot!

Axim x51v very troublesome. I need to do a hard boot (reset), and can't. Every time I try, it soft-boots. I pressed reset and power (the lock is off), and every combination of other buttons- only a soft reset. I have SPB Pocket Plus installed. Since I cannot sync, programs can be added on the SD card.
Thanks everyone, in advance, for your help with this difficult problem.

Try removing the battery for 5 - 10 minutes.

Actually it should be 'power' then 'reset'.

That is - keep the power button pressed while doing the reset.

A tip: abort the hard reset when asked if you really want to continue.
Then check your axim again.
You may always perform a complete hard reset if the aborted reset doesn't fix the problem.

Thanks for the tips. I tried all that and more, no luck. Still boots like a soft reset. I see a brief flash of the icon that asks for the Contacts button, but only for a second. It doesn't matter if I press the Contacts button while this is happening or not.
Again, many thanks for the suggestions.

Sorry for that - but I know that there are some software out there that can perform a hard reset.
Google is your friend :p

Try Tweaks2k2. I understand it has a hard reset feature. But, I've never seen or tried it myself.

Thanks everybody. Tweaks 2k2 will not reboot WM5. Pocket Controller needs to sync to work, and I cannot sync. That is why I am trying to reboot.

Been there before - no 'hard reset' software available.
Or - did I overlooked something ?

Again thanks to all. That didn't work. Task Manager did force a hard reset, but the result was the same as when I did a hard boot manually- a brief flash of the hard boot window, then a soft boot.
ANY suggestions gleefully accepted.

It sounds like it was partially upgraded to ROM A12. Did you get it new or try to do the upgrade? You might want to get the latest rom A12 and see if it will complete.
