Is there a PERMANENT solution to the battery latch open issue?!

I have read the big, long thread on this that can be found in these forums.

My axim now has a ton of super glue, tape and nail polish, all of effectively DOUBLING the size of the leg on the battery cover that presses down the button that suppresses the 'battery latch open' message.

Problem is, every week it stops working when I touch the back of the unit - so I go in and put more nail polish on the leg and it works, for another week.

What I need is a technique that allows me to stop adding crap onto the leg. How can I rig it so that that switch is ALWAYS being pressed down so I NEVER, under ANY circumstances get that message!?

If there is no hardware way to do it - can I suppress the message with software any way? Does one of the "hacked" roms take away this message?

Thanks for any replies.

I thought I saw a thread a while back where someone took apart their Axim and permanently got rid of the message by doing something to the actual switch. I don't have time to do a search for it now, but I'm pretty sure there was one about how to do this.

A simple thing would be to put some nailpolish or something on the hook on the battery door, and let it dry. Don't put too much, just a light amount.
