Aximsitebluetoothicon how to disable bluetooth during soft reset

Dell Axim X51v A12 ROM
I have a couple of strange anomolies that have just started recently, and they may be related.

First: whenever I click my Wireless Power button to enable it, it always starts Bluetooth and not Wifi. It -used- to always start whatever service was running last, but now it just goes straight to Bluetooth, which I almost never use. I then have to turn Bluetooth off and manually start WiFi, or use the tray icons to control them.

Also, anytime I perform a soft reset, it's slower that usual, and I notice that the Bluetooth indicator (flashing blue light) is blinking during the boot process. Once I reach the desktop, the Bluetooth indicator stops flashing.

Any ideas what's causing both, or either of these issues?

Is there a registry hack to prevent Bluetooth from starting after a soft reset?
Is there a registry hack to make WiFi my default wireless service?

TIA

Since you have a X51v, get the Widdcom bt stack. A part of the installation of this bt stack is a handy little program that replaces the one that's executed when you press the wireless button. With it, it brings up a dialogue box and you tap the pne t at you want to start or stop. Alternativly, you can just tap t e wi-fi icon on the bottom-left corner of the today screen and choose "Turn On.

The next time you want wifi, do not use the wireless button. Instead, manually enable wifi (i.e., using tray icon) and then this should be your default when using the button again.

Cool, thanks...
I must have changed this a couple of weeks ago, doing exactly what you described...

nope - didn't do it.
that method works, but only for that session, if I soft reset I'm right back to Bluetooth being the default...

Anybody have a solution?
There must be some simple registry edit to change this...

Just a thought but have you checked your WINDOWS/STARTUP folder to
see if some application requiring bluetooth active is not turning it on
such as DELL GPS bluetooth app.
Aside from that a hard reset maybe called for to bring back to factory default.
