Is it still under warranty?

Did you try a hard reset?

No warranty, to old for that. I did not do a hard reset. If I do will I have to download all my programs again? Most everything is on my sd card but not some of my main programs.

Activesync should help you reinstall programs that were not on the SD card. Otherwise, there may be a few programs you will have to reload.

Ok can you walk me thru this? I have no clue what I am doing. What do I do to do a hard reset? Do I have to remove my sd card first? I am sooooo scared I will mess everything up.

1. Take your SD card out
2. Press and hold the power button while using the stylus to trigger the reset button.
3. you will get a screen that asks you to confirm that you want to perform a hard reset. Follow the instruction in the affimative.
4. In a couple of minutes you will be up and running with your Axim's factory settings.
5. Insert your SD card
6. Synch your Axim and in the AS window -> tools -> reinstall programs, there should be a list of programs that you had previously installed. Highlight them one-by-one and AS will reinstall them for you.

A couple of things to note.

You will lose any data you have stored on the Ax.
Yes you can easily re-install programs but if you have any files that are only on the Ax and not synced with your PC they will be gone.

A hard reset may not bring your screen back to life, it could be something else.

If you do a hard reset, be sure to have the Ax connected to the power.

If you try a hard reset without your screen working you probably won't be able to see the screen asking you to confirm the hard reset.
I don't remember which button it asks you to press, someone else may be able to tell you.

I've not heard of warthogs way of hard reseting, I have always used the power button and the soft reset together.

Box and bigtsr are correct. Sorry for my confusion. I have most recently performed a hard reset on my iPaq 5555 and that's what I was thinking about.

Box is also correct in that if you have damaged your screen, you will not be able to see the prompt screen after the hard reset. You'll most likely be looking at an LCD replacement or a new unit.........

Let us know how it goes.

H Everyone: Dell is going to send me out a new Axim. Since Im out of warrenty, it will cost me a bit but at least I should be able to get back up and running agin. Then I will send them mine to refurbish. My only concers is my "notes" I cant seem to find them anywhere. Should they be with my activesync files? My axim will not connect anymore so I cant see my active sync files.
