Off the top of my head, it seems like I remember a simple hack--registry entry, pehaps?--that would make the X51v able to see and connect to 802.11g networks using the built-in card, albeit at an 11mbps max speed. I want to say that the card is capable of connecting to g networks, but Dell disables it because it's not true 54g speeds...I could be crazy, but I'll try to find it.

Ah yes, here it is:

I think that will let it connect to a g-only network with no slowdown for other machines. Of course, I only have a b network, so I can't test it.
