running A12 from desktop

hi,Thanks for the replys on my first post i have x51v with A01, brand new,ran RI29272.exe. I read instructions on the post, seemed very complete. then I downloaded A12 from firefox on my desktop.when I run program the popup says "save or cancel" no run choice, so i went into the file and used setup. The program ran till the i got a 81% down load, then it timed out.i cancled out and took my x51v off cradle, and it seemed to be ok.what upgrades do I do first.. .did it erase any thing, looked like it removed everything from popup window when loading.but it seems to run o.k when i removed it from desktop.I have war and windzip, ok to use lowercase, im learning to type?
my laptop is alienware 900K
browser is firefox
Thank's again ,reed

I wasn't able to install above A05 on my Axim X51. But I DID manage to get further using Internet Explorer than I did with Firefox. So give it a try and let us know what happens. =)

can't run A12

thank's guys,
same problem with ie. i went into services and . enabled everything,
removed antivirus.when it say's do hard reset,it says to continue when dell
logo is on screen, but after reset it has to active sync, but by the time it resync's,the today screen appears ,so i cant continue.then i remove from cradle and do reset cause the x51v freezes up,and says run time out.then my desktop screen go's blue and say's,"windows has found a problem and has to shut down, make sure software is installed correctly..etc.
reed savvy,thanks again

Sorry, are you saving the file first to your desktop? Then running the application from the desktop?

OR are you trying to run the application from your browser (IE, Firefox, etc)?

when i down load all i get is " save or cancel, it goe's to desk top, no run.but it loop's back to save or cancel, etc. the x51v won't hard reset
but i'm not getting alien screen, so i guess i't's ready to load, but it says to tap "continue" loading when hard reset, which i can't do.so i just continue till it times out. I am getting that far! which iv'e done 6 times.
i can't reset hard because all the data was removed during setup Itrien from ie and firefox
.I went to explore clicked on dell opened file to drivers
opened file and clicked on setup' six times it loaded ,got "successful file "then it said continue, starts to load, says it will take 15 minutes, and stop's at 81%, and
says, timed out. next time 4%, then 16%%, then 52%.I think someone knows what's happening .if you would read all my post on the subject i thing you'll will get the idea. did very little that someone would do the same exact thing. It says to hardreset, and click dell logo, but it has to sync, buy the time it syncs it's already at today,so what do you old timers think!

thank's for your reply's reed. p.s. did i screw up.
