I am not seeing that there has been any resolution to the problem in this thread. I don't have a solution, but a related problem in which I think I have identified the problem. My problem is that when I sync (via the usb cradle), my wireless network crashes/shuts down/drops. I have the same wireless router as Jonathan7007 (LinkSys WRT54G). All computers on wifi loose connection, the desktop on LAN does not.

I know my problem is NOT the same... In my case I have finally narrowed it down to a compatibility problem with the Axim and my router. I have tested this, at families house, office, friends, etc. If they have a different model router, no problem, the two cases where it was the same router, crash--for everyone on wifi. It's been very consistent. It is some kind of IP address conflict I think, but only happens with this router model.

My work around is to disable the wireless on my laptop before I sync. Then reboot the laptop before re-enabling the wireless after disconnecting the Axim.

First and foremost I've got to mention that Linksys WRT54G(S/L...) is perhaps the most stable wireless-G router out there if you find an appropriate firmware replacement for it.
I use tomato (WRT54GL) and love it.

Since my x51v only supported wireless-B networks I had to apply a registry tweak to make it able to connect to exclusive wireless-G networks in addition to mixed and B ones.

I believe I went to the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMM\TNETWLN1\Parms\

and changed (or created if they didn't exist) the following DWORD values:
dot11SupportedRateMask
dot11SupportedRateMaskG
with the former set to 1 (it's possible the former exists already) and the latter set to 8, that is:
dot11SupportedRateMask = 1
dot11SupportedRateMaskG = 8

I need help. I was trying to resolve my wifi issue and I upgraded the odessey client and now I cannot get on at all. Unfortunately Odessey is now disabled and I get an message that I am not authorized to use odessey.

Do I have to do a hard reset to restore/reinstall the odessey client?
