I checked the ac adapter, and this is what it says:

"INPUT: AC100~240V 50-60Hz 0.15A
OUTPUT: DC 5V + 0.5V 1.5Max"

It looks like it isn't strong enough after all! Do you suggest I buy the charger you included in a link in your last post? Does the charger you found have the best performance?

The 1.5 Max i assume means the Amps and yes it is a little weak. But it should work just take longer to charge a low battery. And it probably won't work to turn it on while charging at the same time either. The one I sent the link for appears to be a 'real' Dell one so it will be plenty. And if the cradle is wired correctly it will charge and play at the same time. IF not it might only charge when the PDA is off anyway. I would let it charge for a while longer with it turned off and see if it charges the battery at all.

I had my axim in the cradle charger for at least 22 hours before I took it off, and it still had not charged. I assumed that this would be enough time for even a slow charger to charge the PDA. I think I'll try the charger you recommended and see what happens.

Thanks!

Do you have the mobile charger?
If so try charging in the car, may help pinpoint your
problem area.

I bought the travel charger "Big Dave" suggested (you can see it here: Amazon.com: Dell T2411 PA-14 Adapter Compatible With Dell Axim X5 / X3 / X3i / X30 / X50 / X50v / X51 / X51v Series USB Chariging Cradle: Electronics), and it arrived today.

Now, this is going to sound really stupid, but how do I plug the travel charger into my Dell Axim x51v? I cannot find any way for the small, cylindical end of the charger to fit into the Axim. What am I missing?

Thanks!

Oh no! doesn't the current charger plug into the dock with the same type of connector? Also the pda should have come with a little adapter that fits into the bottom connector and has the round connector on the other side.

The part you purchased plugs into the back of the cradle
that the Axim sits in when syncing to your pc and not directly
to the Ax.
