Axim x 51v won't turn on

I've been having some trouble with my Axim x51v lately. I charge it all night on the cradle and then when I go to use it during the day it will not turn on. I've tried pressing the power button, tried pressing the little button on the back in with the stylus, and even tried removing the battery and waiting 5 minutes. When the pda is on the charger the light is orange and eventually turns green.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Or any way to fix it? My axim is not under warranty anymore :(

Try a hard reset (hold in power button and reset at back at same time, and release reset button still holding power button for a few seconds).

I wouldn't hard reset yet. Yuck!!!

Try checking if you have a lot of running programs that drain battery power
settings/memory/running programs

Also check if wifi is turned on this will drain the battery pretty fast.

Exclamation I'm having the SAME PROBLEM!

Wow, finally I found someone with the same problem that I have been experiencing for the last 2-3 weeks! I have not found a solution for this yet, but I can tell you what I have been able to find out so far:
  • This is definitely not caused by the "lock" switch, or WiFi, or any other power drain;
  • The only way I've been able to "wake-up" my Axim is by holding down the Power Button, then pressing & releasing the Reset button, and finally releasing the Power button. This should give you a prompt to "Hard Reset" your system. Here you should choose to cancel it by pressing the "Mail" button instead of the "Contacts". This "hack" appears to do a "partial reset" -- it erases the clock, but keeps all of the other system settings (personalization, etc).
I hope this helps, as we continue to look for a true resolution to this annoyance!

Thank you Thank you! I am just now doing a reboot and all configurations came back, except as you note, the clock. My gosh! Good thing I couldn't find my little Dell Axim manual as I might have done a hard reset without knowing to push the Envelope button. What a scare, I have this set up just so (I did just back up yesterday, thank heavens so I didn't freak out too much!). I've never had a white screen before, shall check now but I doubt I had wi-fi or anything on, it's impossible to get the Active Synch off but I'll follow those instructions I found a few minutes ago on the Axim site. I thought I had a good 50% of battery left and when I turned the Axim on an hour ago, I got a red light notice saying I had one minute of battery left and to recharge or replace the battery. I did recharge it and discovered the white screen an hour later. I have a Dell Axim v51.
