Hmm Dropped my x51, 1/2 the screen is 'stuck'

Hi All,

My x51 fell out of a jacket pocket today and hit the floor, in doing so the battery compartment cover popped off, and the battery flew across the room. It was quite dramatic, and yes, it happened in slow motion for me.

I reassembled, and to my dismay, the right half of the screen has turned into vertical columns of stuck pixels. I performed a hard reset just to see what would happen, the digitizer on the left half of the screen seems to work, but since I can't see the right half, I never get past the initial alignment screen.

What have I most likely damaged to kill 1/2 the screen like this? Would it make sense to attempt to run something that tries to 'unstick' the pixels?

Thanks,

-Marc

you could try running this mpeg4 vid for an hour on your pda to try and massage the pixels back to life.
I'm no expert on the matter but it's worth a shot :)

It is possible that the ribbon cable for the digitizer came loose. Will need to take axim a part to fix.

You may want to contact PocketPC Techs (Pocket PC Techs - Durable Screen Protector/Retractable Cable/Power Adapter Accessories, PDA Repairs, TouchScreen/LCD Repairs, RAM/Memory/Battery Upgrades for Pocket PC, Windows Mobile, Pocket PC Phone, Smartphone, Palm). They may be able to give you an estiamte to have it repaired if you cannot do it yourself.
