Any help much appreciated

Axim X51v. I play around with programs etc. including installing widcomm bluetooth stack. I think I have messed up registry and cannot get Activesync to work and also frequently get message that there is a problem with services.msg. I have tried removing and re-installing activesync. and been through dell and microsoft trouble shootong algorythms with no success. I have tried to uninstall bluetooth stack but only partially successful. essentially I want to reinstall the ROM but cannot do this without activesync. does anyone have a cab file for AXIM ROM that i can download over wireless network and run directly from axim. Any other possible solutions welcome

you need to backup and hard reset or update to the latest rom here...

You don't need to be connected to a computer to reinstall the ROM. You need that to Update the Rom.

Just do a hard reset.
Hold the power button and push the stylus into the little hole in the back.
This will wipe all your memory and put the 51v back to out of the box.
Remove any SD or CF cards first.
You will lose any software you have installed so make sure you have what you need to reinstall them.

In addition you may want to backup the folder on your computer which contains your PDA MyDocuments to another place on your computers system. This way should something happen during your first sync you have a fall back. Another plan would to make a backup of your MyDocuments folder on your unit to a external memory card such as a CF or SD card. This can be accomplished with a copy and paste process.

thanks guys. I feel slightly embarassed, thought i had been doing a hard reset by holding done the power button. should reed the book the next time. All good now

Reading the manual is never a bad thing, just time consuming until there is a problem! :approve:
