Axim x51v won't turn on

I've been having some trouble with my Axim x51v lately. I charge it all night on the cradle and then when I go to use it during the day it will not turn on. I've tried pressing the power button, tried pressing the little button on the back in with the stylus, and even tried removing the battery and waiting 5 minutes. When the pda is on the charger the light is orange and eventually turns green.

This is what happened last month, now when I put it on the cradle to charge, it does nothing. I Tried plugging it into my computer and then plugging into the wall at the same time but then it runs only on AC power. I never get a green or orange light which would signify charging or charged. Is this because the battery is messed up? Would getting a new battery solve this problem?

I am using the A06 software I think its called, i never did the upgrade. And I have not installed any new software.

Ive checked to make sure the axim is not locked, so thats not the problem.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Or any way to fix it? My axim is not under warranty anymore

Right, so it works when it's plugged in, but not when it's not?

Sounds like your battery's being funny especially if it charges...

If the X51v thinks the battery door is open, it won't turn on. I know a number of people have had that problem (as have I).

i've got the same problem...I was using my axim like 4 days ago. It wouldn't turn on yesterday. It was running low on batteries, so i charged it up and still won't turn on. The soft reset nor the hard reset will work, but the bootloader will come up fine. i have recently been having problems with the battery door thing, but its been working since i put electrical tape on the back to keep the door shut, so i don't think that's a problem...though maybe it is...
I'm using the A12 rom (that the last rom that dell gave out for WM5)

After playing around with the axim some more, i realized it was a battery door issue. To get it to turn on, i pressed down at the bottom of the battery door was and voila it turned on. To keep it on without having to press in against the battery door constantly, i put a piece of electrical tape on that area. Now it works as it used to! Hope this helps!
