Cannot connect wifi-- IP address

I have an Axim x51V and on most of the wifi networks i've tried to connect it to it works.

On my school's wifi, I try to connect and the status remains 'connecting'
and I eventually get the error message:

"Unable to obtain server-assigned IP Address. Try again later or enter an IP Address in Network settings."

I don't know what IP address to enter. Why wont it assign me one?

First - Welcome to Aximsite. Lots of good info and ppl here.

You'll need to check with your school about access to their WiFi. It may be a secure network and you'll need a password to gain access. :exc:

Here's one link I found that is similar to your problem: http://www.aximsite.com/boards/wi-fi...p-address.html

You might also do a search in the WiFi forum for the word "address" in the title line. There are a lot of threads with this topic.

I did a hard reset of my axim and it fixed this problem. It must have been one of the settings but as for which one I have no idea. Its fixed now anyway. Yay!

That's good. :approve:

I'd suggest getting a good backup program and backup your AX on a regular basis. Weekly at least. :)

I personlly use Spb Backup. :)
