Internet w/ Axim through Verizon Cellphone

I am wondering if I can access the internet for email, website browsing, etc. on my Axim x51 via bluetooth connection to my Verizon cellphone. Is this possible? I called Verizon, they were confused, said only could browse if have PDAphone. I did this years ago with a Palm and a cable to my cell on Vz.

I have the following

Axim x51
Verizon service (will upgrade to needed plan if this is possible)
Samsung SCH-a970 cell phone
both are bluetooth and have connected.

Is is possible to use my cell to connect the Axim and surf the web, email, via bluetooth connection, and if so, what Verizon wireless plan do I need.

THanks.

After doing some research into bluetooth profiles and checking out the Samsung site for the profiles our phone supports int the SCH a970 FAQs it looks like your out of luck. Your phone only supports the Hands-Free (HFP) and Headset (HSP) profiles. What you need to use our phone as a moden is the Dial-Up Networking profile (DUN). If the SCH a970 were a WM phone I could direct you to a few work arounds but you should really look for a dedicated mobile phone forum to find your answer. Howards Forum might cover this brand I think???

It looks doable but again the answer can be found on a dedicated phone site like Howards Forums. One of our members linked to it awhile ago.

I tried connecting via BT with AT&T & the connection was terribly slow. I tried using my Cingular 3125 to connect via BT with my Axim & the connection was slow even with a data plan. You would be better off in the long run with upgrading your phone to a smartphone. See the thread below #6 for instruction.
