I'm aware of that, it might be the only way to fix it, note I did say "Reflash"

Ah, Yes, okay, Reflash. But if the buttons aren't working and the d-pads not working and hard resets not working and button mappings not working I don't see a chance in **** of this brick getting fixed period. SorryTurbo Tronix but from what you've been describing your SOL.

maybe someone can send me their button folder...try it out and see where the leads...

So far the only buttons that seems to work are the 2 first ones from the left since they give me at least an error when pressed. the other ones (center button including the outer ring and the 2 right buttons) don't work at all since they don't give anything when pressed.

Try again to hard reset. The button you need to press is one of the two on the left to confirm you want to do the reset. If those two are working, you should be able to get back to factory conditions.

I managed to bring it back to WM5 A12 (since this flash was done via PC and did not require any button pressing on the PDA).

But the same problem is still there so it is not software related. This is a hardware related problem so I'll have to open the device to see what is going on...

Do you have a gmail account TurboTronix? That button folder thing sounds like it's worth a try before you crack open the case.

Wait a minute, if your back to WM5 ROM Rev. A12 then you have a button folder now. Man, I need to stop posting when I just wake up.:o

You'll need a Torq screwdriver to open the case.

Here's a link to a video on how to take apart your Ax. It's a big file though 160MB. Good luck TT.

Ok so the problem is that the white part where the button strip connects to is desoldered on one side. Anyone knows a repair place in Canada (possibly in Montrea)? The pins are freakin tiny and very close to one another so I don't want to take a chance even though I did many soldering project before hand :)

I don't mean to change the topic but is there anyplace (in the world) that I can find the button pad motherboard that is shown in this picture? On my x51v there is some damage on one of the traces on this flexible pcb. The result is that my middle cursor keys and centre button do not work.

Thanks.
