I just bought my wife a 16GB SanDisk SDHC card for her Axim so she could use it in school to record the lectures. I put it in the Axim and it wouldn't recognize it. I also tried it in my x51v and it did the same thing. I placed the card in ym Cannon A620 camera and it said there was a memory error however, when I placed it in my computer, it had no problem reading it adn recognizing it.
Is there a memory size limit for cards in our Axims? If so, what is it so I can get the max size. I have and use 4gb cards both SD and CF without problems.
I tried searching the forums but since "SD" was too short of a word, it wouldn't allow the search to continue.
In original WM5 on x51v you can use SD cards up to 4Gb (providing it is not the SDHC version). Original wm5 does NOT support SDHC cards.
To make it support SDHC either install the patch that is mentioned a few times in threads above or, do like me, upgrade to LennySh WM6.1 (latest A09 is best IMHO)
See here: One Stop Help
Also give LennySh website a visit , that is where he posts new versions of ROMs and helps with bugs, etc.

I have a 4 and 8 gb SD cards that both work just fine in my X51V. I also have a 16 gb SDHC card that works also just fine. LennySh's ROMs work just fine I have been running one or another of his ROMs since the end of last December 07. All of those ROMs support the SDHC card.
Currently running LennySH WM6.1 L10 Beta and it works great with the limited testing I have done to date.
Thanks very much for finding those for me. I only wish I had seen them before I ordered that card. Now I have a card that can't be used for anything except maybe file transfers between computers.
Thanks for the info. I installed the driver for the SDHC card and it worked without issue. Like was said, I only have access to 3.8gb but at least I can use the card now. I may play with the WM6 upgrade later when the wife doesn't need the PDA for awhile. I can't afford to loose access to mine right now due to using it for work.
Which versions seem to be the best out there? Most stable, most features, most you know ...stuff?
I've only noticed the Windows Mobile 6.1 roms on Lennys site. The roms come in 3 flavors: a bare-bones version, a standard Dell loaded version and a 'Lenny' version which includes some really useful utilities. I use the Lenny version 07 ROM.
I really like Windows Mobile 6.1. It runs faster, multitasks better, connects quicker and downloads are MUCH faster.
Yeah, the driver that's available for 5 doesn't allow for a card larger than 4gigs. However, as several above have talked about Lenny's 6.1 rom does allow for the full 16gb to be accessible.
Pain in the butt to reinstall everything, but the actual flashing was really simple, and I'm glad I did it.
