Worried Known repair companies for X5

I am using the X51v that don't seem to hold power long. I have an X5 that I loved to death. Literally, loved to death. What is a good company to send it or take it to for repair? Would anybody know? Please help me, I don't like this X51V.

Have you tried replacing the main battery? Under the best conditions, a Lithium ion battery starts losing its ability to hold a charge after a couple of years and loses most of its capacity in just a few years.

Google for PDASmart.com. Have used this company for approximately 5 years on my pdas; comparable prices, excellent work, and fast turnaround.

I agree with you. I would first get a new battery and try that. Should that fail I would do a hard reset of your unit and check the ROM revision letter to make sure its A12 for WM5 releases from Dell. There were some issues reported here on battery drainage on ROM revisions prior to A12. If you have to do a A12 ROM upgrade be sure and read all of the information on this site on that process and then follow it exactly step by step. Not doing so has bricked others unit as also reported on this site. The X51V is the best pure PDA (not smart phone) that the world has ever seen IMHO. I use mine daily with no issues. You can tweek your unit to get better batty life during daily useage using the brightness dimmer (mine is at no more than 50%) and the auto setting for the CPU. The uses that drain my battery the quickest are WiFi use and watching a movie. :approve:

pocket pc tech

Pocket PC Techs did a great job on my X50v at a reasonable price. Can't ask for much more than that. Good luck!

Even if the main batt is dead, the X5 can run on straight power from a wall jack. It would simply shut down immediately whenever it's unplugged.

He didn't say that the battery ceased to hold a charge - he just said the pda stopped working (kinda vague).

I'm also curious to see his list of reasons for not liking the 51v. I'm sure a few peeps in the classifieds would love to take it off his hands.
