possible dying x51v, what to do?

I am currently in HK and during the record rain this past month the x51v was exposed to some spalshes and extreme humidity. It is now acting strange even after drying and multiple hard resets.

Stock Dell Axim x51v with A12 rom.

Problems:
recorder button is not responding, wifi button acts as a continuous loop of down key (can be interurrped by pressing the nav pad key). I can still hard reset but unable to call the bootloader to load new rom.

up key on the nav pad is acting like a down key.

the calenader button sometimes work and sometimes not, but always works after a hard reset.

All the nav pad and buttons except for 'home' and action button stopped working or hopping all over after it was exposed to rain but most started working again after I dried it and hard reset. The wifi button and recorder button were working right after it got wet but stopped working after the first and all subsequent dozens of hard resets.

This pda is going on about its fifth year and it is possible that the buttons are dying anyway (though I have never use the wifi and recorder button). Shoud I wait to see if the functions come back or is it worth to send it in for repair or get a new one?

I was hoping to wait a bit longer for a proper vga smart phone with 3.5" screen or larger. However, if the 51v bites the dust I will need something right away. Getting the HP iPag210 seems like a waste as the Axim at its current state can still do 90% of what the iPag210 will do for me. Xperia looks promising but who knows when it will be available. Other than that, is there any VGA phone out there of coming out soon that can approximate the x51v?

If I were you I would take it apart & dry it all, give it some drying time (a few days), then put it back together. It will probably be OK after that.

Well, I know this won't do you any good now, but I just ordered a Pelican 1020 case to use for my PDA whenever the the weather is a little wet or I will be near a body of water. My x51v with an EBCases case fits perfectly in the 1020 case.

Thanks for the help. It is sitting in front of a dehumidifier right now 16 hours and going. I think with the high humidity chances are that it never fully dried up. It has happened before and lilke Caranvman77 said it eventually got better but I just moved to HK and it's been many many years since I lived in a place this humid. I am worry that the PDA is going on 5 years and may not recover this time.

For my next device I would definitely need some protection. I really hope someone would make a VGA or WVGA 3G phone with a screen justifying the resolution. All the screens on the few VGA smart phones are too small to make sense. iPhone is really nice and I am willing to reinvest all the softwares (WM is great since there are so many shareware or freeware) if it only has a replaceable battery and VGA screen.
