My dell axim x51v turns off automatically constantly

My axim turns off automatically constantly (every 8 seconds aprox.) even when it has enough battery power (like 78% or less). What do I do?

Do you get any error message when the unit is powered back on? Does LED under the power button blink? Does an icon appear on the titlebar across the top of the screen?

Do you have any other information that might help us narrow down the problem?

No it doesn´t say anything, nothing appears, nothing happens it just turns off. When I turn it on again I´m in the application I was when the axim turned off (Its something like a stand by; I think ). Sometimes it does not turns on again until I charge it. I don´t know why does this happen if the axim has enough battery.

Sounds like a defective battery. I'd try another battery if you have a spare. Does the same thing happen when you have it plugged in to the charger? If not, then it is the battery causing the problem.

You may have done this, but I would try a soft reset and then a hard reset (only takes a couple minutes) - although I agree that it sounds like a possible battery issue.
