Windows Media Player does nothing

Hello:) I am the new owner of a used X51V and have been trying (all day) to load & play music on it. When I tap on Windows Media Player on the unit, nothing happens. Any thoughts?

Any chance youre running a 6.1 rom? If so uninstall the compaction tweaks if you loaded it..

I have had my Axim X51v for a couple of years and Windows Media Player has worked fine up to a month ago. Then it stopped working entirely. When I click WMP, nothing happens. Is there a way to reload WMP. I don't have that option when I run the CD that came with the PDA.

The only way you can "reload" WMP (or any other software that is installed in ROM) is by performing a hard reset. A hard reset deletes are personal data and any applications you've installed to the device and returns the device to its factory settings.

If you can't open up the application and if a soft reset did not resolve the issue, then a hard reset is your best bet.

Thanks. The hard reset worked. I had forgotten that there were two kinds of resets.
