screen unstable

I am kind of new here and need help. My screen is jittery, it flickers up and down. Anyone know how to fix this? I have done a hard restart (power & reset buttom pressed together and followed directions) but this didn't help. Is there a way to re-load th soft ware? Don't know what to do.

Need some more info:
Device (x51 or x51v)
What ROM (A06, A12, etc.)

I'm thinking it's a messed up screen or digitizer...

Your Hard Reset reloaded the operating system for you already.
You could try doing it again.

It sounds like a hardware issue.

I would agree with Box as if this type of problem remains after a hard reset, it is probably related to the hardware not software. Tell me, after a hard reset is this behaviour there right away or only after you install a few programs?

When I do a hard reset the problem is there right away. I have found that if I change the back ground picture to one of my own, the screen will get some better, and if I change the screen orintation to left or right landscape it is better than portrate.

Better is not great isn't so on this I will assume that your device screen is defective somehow or maybe the connection has loosen overtime and create this problem. I cannot and will not suggest that you open it but I would to scratch this from the list of probable problem cause.

Well I wonder if I should send it in for service. Will Dell work on these or is it better to go elsewhere?

Dell won't work on it. They left this market a while ago. PPCTechs may be able to help you. It isn't cheap to fix these things, so it may also be easier to look for one in the Classified forum here, or on eBay (usual cautions apply).

Screen solution

It is the LCD that is failing

I had the same problem (see previous posts) and bought a new LCD/Touchscreen assembly on ebay for 43$. That fixed the problem perfectly. Make sure you are careful opening the latch of the ribbon connector. I broke mine and had a terrible time finding a solution to get it fixed. (see my post a few days ago).

I bought my LCD screen from FULL LCD WITH TOUCH SCREEN for Dell axim X50V/X50U/X51V en venta en eBay.es (finaliza el 30-sep-08 05:56:43 H.Esp)
