Excessive memory usage

Hi,

I just bought a refurbished X51v in perfect condition and I LOVE it over the x30 [i had that last year but memory allocation sucked)

this version has dedicated 50MB dedicated RAM [14MB lost randomly so 64MB RAM] and at all times is using 30MB, this is with and without today applets etc.

Does WM5 REALLY use all this RAM?

I can't speak for what WM5 uses. But, my x50 with WM2003 uses 9Mb. :exc:

Do a soft reset and check the memory usage again. It will be a better indicator of the raw memory usage.

Do you have today plug ins? They can consume memory pretty wildly. Look at Settings/Today/Items and try unchecking pretty much everything that is checked, then exit and soft reset to see "bare bones" memory.

As I can recall my device was using 18Mb after a soft reset. I think I posted this with an image.

I was running A06 and you are running a newer version which, I am sure, is a bigger OS. Maybe your 25Mb is right.

My 51v running A12 will free as high as 31.5 mb if I clear
it using MemMaid or SKtools. The screenshot shows a little
but that's because screenshot uses 2 mb.
