x51v Stuck

mate of mines got an x51v thats stuck on the screen calibration screen and wont go further.
Not got it here to have a look at but are there any obvious tihngs he can do to try and sort it or shall I just get him to stick it in the post so I can have a play...

The simplest ones to check first are,

Screen protector, remove it if it has one.

Clean around the edge of the screen with a piece of card. Any junk stuck in there can cause the calibration to be off.

Come to think of it, one of the most common reasons for this is accidentally engaging the lock switch.
