X51v LCD Ribbon connector
Hi,

I accidentaly broke part of the latch of the LCD ribbon cable socket while I was trying to change the LCD. I tried to make some makeshift latch to keep the cable tight in its socket, but unfortunately the Screen does not give any sign of life. Once I managed to get it to work, but background lighting did not work. I pulled it out once more to realign better and eversince I could not get more out of the display then streaks and no background light.

Is there any hope to be able to fix this?

Thanks

Berthold

Hi,

I managed to fix the broken connector by making an improvised latch with cardboard that holds the cable in place. It works perfectly now and all screen jittery and fading colour problems have disappeared!
