Looks to me like a mud stain. :(

Try running the diagnostic.
1. Press the power+record button together
2. While holding the two, press the reset hole
3. While still holding the the two, release the reset hole
4. Wait for the diagnostic screen to pop up
5. Release the power+record button
6. Follow directions as prompted.

Try rubbing it off with your fingers. It might be a broken screen.

Did you get it wet?

I can't see the images very well, but it looks like water between the touch screen and the digitizer.
Water tends to magnify the pixels.

I found this link to show you how to replace the screen. From what I have read you have cracked the lcd itself and if you can't feel the crack with your finger on the screen probably not the digitizer. Not sure how much all this costs to fix but I am sure if you do some searches you will find that answer also. good luck!
