I love my x51v but I seem to have to be on this site to post more odd question that I want. Help is always at hand thanks to all the great folks who come here, so I am hoping for more help again.

I am running XP and ActiveSync 4.5.0.

I was happily synching to this. Now connection is fine and synching kicks in but seems to just hang - or at least run and run without any progress. I was away from the PC for ~2 weeks so there was probably quite some catchiong up to do - starting Monday (so you can see this has gone on for a bit now - not running for 4 solid days but intermittently throughout those days).

I have tried soft resets to no avail.

So I tried to hard resetn so I'd then recover from my recent backup (I have been diligent on backups lately) that is from before I travelled for the 2 weeks.

Holding down the power button and the reset button together seems to only do a soft reset. Any suggestions as to why and how to resolve?

I'm hoping that my simply asking the question will cause a miracel and it all to self-resolve..... :):):)

It might be something as simple as how you are pressing the buttons.

Hold the Power Button, and then press and release the reset button, then release the power button.

Also, check that you don't have the lock switch activated, that could stop the power button working while still allowing the reset button to work.

you should reinstal os and only had drivers ,then download the rom from dell web , and then upgrade it . and after refresh the rom , your hard reset will ok
