X51 Stucked at dell blue logo screen at startup

Hi...

I have a Axim X51 too, with the same problem: i try and i try to update the firmware (bricked after a incomplete update via Dell Software), and nothing happens;

Today i have entered in chat with Dell technical support. They recommended to me, to use the R131773.EXE, because my Dell is in Portuguese. Acordding to the atendant, this is the best ROM to use with my X51. (not "v")

Using IMG2NB0F.exe, i have generated
DiAd_K_AximX51_WM5_A04BR.nb0, from the DELL oficial image "AximX51_WM5_A04BR.IMG".

Manually i havce created the DiAd_K_AximX51_WM5_A04BR_nb0.crc with the crc "D9AC0C12".

Using Wirelless + Power + Reset, i have updated my ROM.

But the problem persists: when i turn my PDA on, he freezes at Dell Blue logo.

Can be a bootloader image problem?

Can somebody help in how can i get the DiAd_B_AximX51_WM5_A04BR.nb0 bootloader image? Or i use the same "DiAd_K_AximX51_WM5_A04BR.nb0", just renaming it to "DiAd_B_AximX51_WM5_A04BR.nb0"?

Axim X51 with SD Image Loader A05

Tanks by the help.

Best regards,
Luiz.

@tuscho. The CRC is not correct. Please use this one: 1381CA8A

These are the correct file names:
DiAd_K_AximX51_WM5_A04BR.nb0
DiAd_K_AximX51_WM5_A04BR_nb0.crc

I see that you used Mark Young's IMG to NB0. So, I assume you have the correct nb0.

@Willy_Go, his needed x51 language is not English. It's Brazilian Portuguese. So that file I provided are Aero_Boy and other people (including you) is not useful in this circumstance.

After i tried woth your crc provided, i will post another message.

Tanks again!

If you were updating with the dell software which works via active sync on an Xp computer, all you need to do is leave it connected to the computer and do the second hard reset.

Odd, I was assuming something. You are using the Brazilian Portuguese ROM?

John

Using your crc, the system gave me the crc error message.
Ram Checksum displayed in screen: D9AC0C12

Using my crc that is the same os Ram Checksum displayed, the process goes till the finish line: The message telling me that i must do the hard reset.

Maybe in my first post, i have forgot to tell that the flash process gone well.

The only thing that i don't understand, is the "beautiful" dell logo blue screen that freezes at startup...

Man... i really wan't to do this PDA work again...

Another thing:

Can be a Bootloader problem? Then, because that, my correct OS imagem flashed doesn't loads?

I already thought in this, but i have searched by a DiAd_B... image, but not found....

I'll put it more simply,

Have you tried leaving the Axim connected to the computer while doing a Hard Reset?

This is the reason most people have problems when using the dell update, they don't do the second hard reset while connected.

If you have flashed other ROMs since trying to update with the correct software, then I will leave it for John to sort out.

Sorry... now i get it...

No.... at Hard Reset when my X51 was still working, he were disconnected...

I don't knew about that.... but tanks by your help.

But now at this moment, my PDA does not connect anymore to the Active Sync (WM50 won't startup)... so i think that has to be a second way....

This might be a long shot...

Please use a FAT32 non-SDHC card. If you already are, I'll try to find bootloaders file for you. IF not, please use a regular FAT32-formatted card.

Yes, I took the CRC of the wrong file. Your original CRC is correct. Sorry!
