Frozen Axim x51v

Charged unit in cradle last night.
Pressed power, per usual to turn on the Axim x51v.
No response.
Soft reset--Blue Dell logo comes up, then owner info comes up and screen freezes. Screen then goes black and finally the owner info disappears.

Hard reset brings up option dialog for factory reset or ignore. Neither of the buttons work and the unit remains with this dialog box on. Have to remove the battery to turn off the unit at this point.

Any thoughts what may have happened? No recent change in software or charging procedures.

System lock verified as being off and battery compartment lock is latched.

Odd. Run the diagnostic to see if the two hard buttons are bad...

~~~
1. Press Power+record
2. While holding the two, poke and release the reset hole
3. When the diagnostic pops up, release Power+record
I remember reading another post several months ago with a similar issue. Couldn't do a hard reset because the buttons didn't work. I'll try & find the thread.
re: Frozen Axim x51v
Thanks folks.
Battery charged, per indicator
After the soft reset, with unit in cradle, backlight stays on but screen frozen on the owner info.
I Have "record" mapped to rotation of the screen to Landscape. Pressing it, with power and soft reset button does nothing, no diagnostic program activated. (where do you find these backdoor methods of access to the system parameters?)
Damn
this is sooooooooooo embarrassing. I thought I had the lock off and it was on.
Damn. Clicked it the right direction and all systems go.
Sorry for the zero-brainer moment. Sincerely appreciate your thoughts.
Gonna tape that sucker on, just like the battery hatch is taped shut.
Welcome to the club! There are a lot of "oops, the switch" members here. You "passed" the test to get in! Our club motto is "been there, done that."
Yep, btdt! I actually use the lock switch frequently now and know what to expect when I forget I locked it.
