Aximsitewifiicon Windows Mobile 6.1, File Sharing stopped working

Hey everybody, I recently flashed Windows Mobile 6.1 onto my x51v. Ever since then, I can't access my Windows XP Professional file shares. When I use File Explorer to go to one of my shares (Such as "\\Desktop\" or "\\Desktop\My Documents\") a bubble instantly pops down saying "Cannot Connect" blah blah blah.

Always worked before. What am i missing?

Thanks,
Joel

Hi,
File sharing has two parts. One is your Ax and the other is your PC.

On your PC, did you try to set the "security" on the file/folder? It should allow "Guest" read access or even full access.

On your Axim, it seems the file path are not correct.
Did you try (Your computer name\C:\your file) or (Your computer name\C$\your file)?
Also, if that doesn't work, try taking a look at this page: pocketpc How to access shared folder in the network from windows mobile

I'm not going to open any of my shares for guest access, sometimes I open up a second AP on my network for dormwide StarCraft or Halo 3, so the shares are passworded. They were this way before I flashed to WM6.1, Explorer just asked for a username and password. Worked fine before, and I have tried it with all 3 of my computers.

The paths must be correct, they are correct share names. "\\Desktop\c$" gets me the same results.

It's probably something really simple... :)

Since flashing, the Axim will appear as a different device to the PC.

Check that your firewall is allowing it through.

Dont use File Explorer.
Try this instead:

1) open internet explorer
2) type path in address e.g. \\server/shared docs
3) enter user name and password
