Hi, I dropped my X50v and cracked the digitizer (LCD is OK). My question is should I repair it? or Replace it with another device?

I bought a cheap digitizer from someone online but could never get it to work properly or align it was very jumpy. I know I can send it in for a repair but I am not sure if it is worth it.

Maybe I will get lucky and win a new device in one of the 6th birthday contests and I wont have to worry about it.

Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. This is a great community and moved me to buy the x50v in the first place.

I think it would depend on how cheaply you can get the digitizer. I've seen lots of people with problems with replacement parts too. I would guess you could get a new x50v for around 70 bucks or so on ebay.

Depends on how much you want to spend. PPCTechs could do a full repair of the touchscreen/digitizer for about $179. However, you may very well be able to find a complete (albeit used) X50v or X51v for that price or possibly less from Mobilitysite's Classifieds section or on eBay or some such.

DX sells cheap digitizers, I don't know if they're any good though.
