Activesync 4.5 issue

Hi, I have Axim X51v and using Activesync 4.5 with Windows XP SP2. I have a strange problem that I need help on. When I put my Axim in the cradle and turn on the PC, Activesync attempts to establish connection, but it fails to do so - I get the error message saying there is a problem with connection (which gives me an option for diagnostics but doesn't help). I need to remove Axim from the cradle and re-insert it back to the cradle for Activesync to work properly. Could someone give me some tips on this issue? Thanks.

Have you tried a soft reset of the Axim or a reboot of the computer?

I get this about once or twice a day at work. It happens because my AX is turned on. My work PC is always on. I'd make sure your PC is already on and turn your AX off before you insert it into the cradle.

I've seen that same problem several times. Uninstall Activesync and install version 4.2. That's solved the problem every time for me.

First off thank you all for all the great info on here. After 3 days of trying to get my x51v to sync, I had success. The problem I was having is it would show connected, but would not sync or aquire an Ip address. I don't know why but my tcpip was disabbled,as soon as I enabled it, it sync'ed, recevied an Ip address and shouted for joy!!!!!

Problem solved!

I could NOT believe how easy it was to fix my issue - this is when I was having trouble with sync when I plugged in my PDA and then starting my computer.

Simply do this in Axim;
Go to Start, settings, Connections, USB to PC, and uncheck the box "Enable advanced network functionality"

Worked like a charm for me. Hope this helps.
