Turns on with dead screen

Sometimes when I power on the light turns on for my wifi but nithing happens. If I hold down the power button the screen turns all white. I had heard about this briefly when putting your Axim into its cradle but not when just turning on. I of coarse have to do a soft reset to get back working. Anyone hear of something similar? Any advice? Thanks beforehand

This thread should help, also check what ROM version you have, it sounds like you have one of the older ones.
Updating to A12, if you have less then that, would probably fix the problem as well.

I did a search but I can't find out how to tell what ROM I am on? It isn't in the About section. Am I missing something?

I just had a similar strange episode with my v51v where the screen suddenly died on me. It would turn on but would not accept any inputs at all. It also would not recognize any input from the buttons other than the power button. I removed the battery and kept it out for some time with no response. I eventually just performed a hard reset and all is well now ,except that AS4.5 won't sync now at all. It's not working with my other x51v either so I don't think it's the PDA.
