I have a strange, potentially serious problem. My axim is not getting charged anymore. No matter if cradle or charger cable: the light indicating power connection/charging turns on, when looking at the power status it says it is charging (the green bar is moving as it should while charging). However the percentage never changes and the status light of the power button never turns green.
Btw, the axim is receiving power, because when connected to the cradle the axim works even without battery.
It is not the battery (I tried 3 different ones), and not the charger ( i tried several chargers to my disposal. I tried to wiggle the connector - no change. I can charge the battery by itself in ther cradle but in the axim istself.
Incidentally when this started, I always got a message of a critically low backup battery when waking the axim ( even though the battery was at 100%). Also, at first it would charge a bit, then stop. Now it wont charge at all.
So what could be wrong? Is there some circuitry responsible for the charging? Why could it think it is charging but in reality nothing happens?
First, Welcome to Mobilitysite. Lots of good info & ppl here.
Are any of the batteries fairly new? Older batteries either won't fully charge or hold a charge for very long.
Also, here's a link you might read thru to see if it resolves your problem. battery problem?

Well like I said it definately is not a battery problem, two of the batteries are new (original Dell), one is a high capicty which is not new but quite good. Anyhow the batteries itself do get charged in that battery place in the cradle. They do not receive any charge when being in the axim, even though the axim is acting as if it was charging.
What about charging in the back of the cradle? Do you ever get a green light on the cradle?

You mean the battery charging station of the cradle? Yes, yes, I do get the green light there. But when the battery is inside the axim - no charging, even though it says its charging.
IF you get the green light there it should show as fully or nearly full charge when you put it in your AX. I guess there could be a problem with the sensing circuits that won't show as fully charged battery.
Have you done a soft reset? You might even have to do a hard reset, but you would want to do a complete backup before that extreme step.

I'm also having charging issues, but on the opposite end of the spectrum.
I can charge my battery either from the cradle or a USB cable and the charging light turns from amber to green when it is complete.
My issue is that the battery meter stays at 100%. I can run my Axim on battery power for hours and it will remain at 100% until the Axim just shuts off because the battery has finally given out. I don't think the battery is bad because, like I said, it will last for about 4 hours, just like it always has.
When I plug in the Axim to charge, the battery meter then jumps up to 107% capacity and then goes down to 100% when it is fully charged.
I'm using WM 6 on a Axim X51v. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Boone: If it charges to 100% in the cradle you have no problem there. If you have ppc plugged directly into the wall via ac cord (I assume your using wm mobile 5) or I missed it up there, and it isn't charging to 100% with running programs off and wifi off and power off. My only idea would be the charger adapter isn't connecting correctly to the axim, or the ac cord?
