I Just bought a Dell Axim X51 of Ebay (New in box - and it does appear new) I already have a Axmin X51V.

I remember When i was ordering it that there were 3 versions...

Obviously I opted for the best one at the time, but when I bid on this Auction I forgot That there were 3 version and His description mentioned the specs from the Mid class version with the 530mhz CPU and WIFI.

But upon setting it up and checking it's specs I relized it was the 416mhz model and no wifi. Which now explains why it probably is Brand new, it must have been a left over - so in short I got duped.

But on the flip side I only got it to keep in my car so I'd have it available when I needed to use my Dell GPS Navigator that i purchased when I bought the X51v. :approve:

But now that I told you my sob story, is there any hacks or tweaks I can use to beef up this X51 416mhz.

Like is the Wifi Hardware missing from this model or is it just not enabled?

I'd like to squeeze a little performance if possible. I know so little about the X51 version its painful.

I've been driving around in my big fancy X51v all this time and now that I got the "Yugo" version I yearn to bring it up a notch.

Wifi isn't there not even hiding... you'll need a CF or SD adaptor wifi card

You could try overclocking it, as long as you are aware of the risks. But for a GPS, 416mhz should be enough.

The x51 basic should be a good car gps system, since it has bluetooth, you dont need wifi in a car, and this thing would still be a great music player if you fill some cards with songs and hook the audio up to your car.
