Axim battery life is horrid

Hi,

I have an x51V with the extended batter. about 2000 mAH.

My axim, on power saving mode, with the lowest level of backlight [without turning off] will get a mere 3 hours on this unit. Perhaps 2 hours on Wifi.

This situation was the same while I had WM5, and now with my WM6.1 LennySH [Updated so my 16GB SDHC card was compatibe]

Anyone have a solution to get this battery life fixed?

P.S. I dont use a lot of program RAM, and run very minor programs on the battery life. Also, I have not tried reconditioning the battery yet, but I suspect it to be defective.

I don't think the official extended battery is about 2000 mAh. Are you sure it was bought from Dell?

Despite the advertising of non-memory lithium-ion batteries, just try letting the battery run completely dry and recharge it.

2200 mAh is the same as mine. So, that should be right. I think if that technique does not work, you might as well as look for a new battery.

Sounds like something is wrong with the battery, I've got the 2200 ones and they last longer than that..

You might already be aware that you can purchase (ebay) extended batteries for your Axim. I have a 3600. Yes, it is bulky, but I don't mi9nd the trade off for 3-4 hours of life. BTW, the battery was about 22.00

My 2200 mAh lasts about 4 hours using WiFi and it still has 25% left. I don't let mine go below 50% very often.

I was going to post 4.5 hours or so in my first post, but it's been a while since I've run my battery down that low. That's with wifi, surfing, chat, etc, the real battery killer for some reason is snes emulator, barely get around 2 hours using that program..right now running 6 standard batteries I got off ebay for $20 shipped :D

Good luck finding a case, or pants pockets big enough to accomodate that beast of a battery
