If Andrea has Vista and not XP, could he install a virtual machine like the freeware
Sun xVM VirtualBox? There are Windows/Linux/MacOS/Solaris versions that he could use to install XP to then potentially install the updated ROMS.
A tedious workaround perhaps, but one that might work. If I'm not mistaken, does the SDHC patch for WM5 only show half the SDHC card memory, so that 8GB would only show up as 4GB?
One other question, suppose one were to have a clean, freshly restored A12 version of the English ROM on his X51v and did a Sprite backup. Would it be possible to pass such the self-extracting EXE of the backup to Andrea and have him copy it to an SD card then run it off the card to "restore" his device?
That is likely a long shot, as I'm not sure if a device ID in the backup would prevent success, but I'm wondering if anyone has tried it or read a thread about the feasibility of that?
EDIT: Oops, it looks like Andrea succeeded with an English version if I read his profile signature correctly.
