Hello to all they are new, from many years I have a pda of Dell. From the x50 today with the x 51v and continuous to find to me well. Today but I would want to know from you that you are + experts of me like I can make rinserire former novo the system wm5 without to pass from the download of Dell, because having like sistame in the Seen PC windows I do not succeed to load it. Currently I have the A04 version in Italian. And I would want I have to replace it or to make a upgrade that English. To moreover it would appeal to me if it were possible to modify it for the memories sdhc. Thanks Andrea

I had a little trouble understanding your request.
If I understand correctly, you want to change to a English version from a Italian A04 Version.
Also, you want SDHC capabilities.

Please confirm if I am right.

WM6 è disponibile per X51v e darà SDHC esso.

Il la cosa migliore se scrivete in italiano come pure l'inglese.

I am awesome as a trilingual but Italian is not one of them.

Ok, from what I understand from Google Translator, I finally can understand what Box says! But Box, it was already mentioned that he/she has a x51v.

But it isn't clear if he wants the upgrade for an x50 also or if he just wants to upgrade to A12 English and as a side note add SDHC support.
It's all a bit complex and if you don't give the right information you could end up giving him a problem.
Also he needs to flash as he has Vista (Seen PC windows) and with Vista it is impossible to install the dell updates.

I don't remember, can you flash English directly or do you have to change the file name.
My brain is still a bit muddy,

If Andrea has Vista and not XP, could he install a virtual machine like the freeware Sun xVM VirtualBox? There are Windows/Linux/MacOS/Solaris versions that he could use to install XP to then potentially install the updated ROMS.

A tedious workaround perhaps, but one that might work. If I'm not mistaken, does the SDHC patch for WM5 only show half the SDHC card memory, so that 8GB would only show up as 4GB?

One other question, suppose one were to have a clean, freshly restored A12 version of the English ROM on his X51v and did a Sprite backup. Would it be possible to pass such the self-extracting EXE of the backup to Andrea and have him copy it to an SD card then run it off the card to "restore" his device?
That is likely a long shot, as I'm not sure if a device ID in the backup would prevent success, but I'm wondering if anyone has tried it or read a thread about the feasibility of that?

EDIT: Oops, it looks like Andrea succeeded with an English version if I read his profile signature correctly.

Oh boy, Andrea went for the WM6.1 update.
That works fine. Makuu's A09 doesn't have major updates over A08. So "if it ain't broken, don't fix it!"
