Help on a locked X51 Hard Reset

Hi,

My X51 has locked in a way that makes hard reseting impossible:

It locked after a soft reset, when the password screen and a clock alarm prompt were shown at the same time.

Unfortunatelly, the touch screen and the hardware buttons were also locked (only the soft reset button is still working).

Since the hard reset procedure asks you to confirm it by pressing a button, there is no way to proceed.

I left the battery out for about 100 hours, but afterwards the PDA woke up unchanged: Without the touch screen; Without the hardware buttons; Asking for my password; And prompting for the same alarm again.

Curiously, it still connects perfectly with Activesync.

What do I do now ? ? ?

Check the lock switch.

First try Box's suggestion.
Since you can sync your device, try running MyMobiler and controlling the Axim that way.

By the way, Axim x51 series has persistent memory so removing the battery does not work. (It only works on x50 series)

Hi Johnhu2005,

Thanks for your suggestion.

The installation of MyMobiler failed. After taking some time to check the PDA and to install the softwware, the setup process finaly considered that the device was not connected, and terminated.

Is there a way to install it by simply copying something into the device? That I am still able to do.

If it is able to sync, can you check the data on the Axim?

I think diagnostic mode should be resorted to.

1. Press the Power button and Record button
2. While holding the two, press the reset hole
3. Wait for a screen to pop up (a few seconds)
4. Release the Power button and Record button

Follow all instructions as prompted.

Ummm John, the buttons don't work.

I still think it's the lock switch.
