my x51v is possessed

hey guys...all right this is what i have done to my x51v since i got home last night

flash L11
couldn't load mobipocket
so i went back to stock wm5 A12
tried loading mobipocket from mom's computer (wired connection to internet)
and it worked...

this morning i got up started happily reading and it's decided to turn itself off for about a minute and then turn itself on again...then turn itself off again...it doesn't matter if i am hooked up to the power cord, on the battery or connected to my laptop. yes i made sure to to the fake server trick thing...didn't work

so i flashed it back up to L12 this time...because i really don't want to waste the money i spent on the sdhc card...

did a soft reset when it was back in wm5...it wanted to do a hard reset and it still resets my clock and calendar

did a soft reset just to check it out once i was L12...still resets my clock and calendar

and it's still doing it. anyone else have this problem?

Whoa! How many times did you flash that poor Axim, my friend?

You might want to try Lenny's L11 instead of L12 as L12 is in Alpha 2.

i don't think it matters...because it was doing it with the stock wm5...and i don't want to flash again right now...give the poor thing a break...though it sucks because i can now read the sdhc card but i can't load all that i need to on it because it would lose connection when it powers off...sigh

When it resets the Calendar, does it reset it to 2005? If it does, I might know the reason.

Hehe, it's the "Mini-battery" inside your Axim. It stores dates for 5 minutes or so after battery removal. After a while, that mini-battery dies off (Like any rechargeable battery). Of course, you can be radical and replace it via surgery on the Axim. Or you can take the software approach and use mikelspikel's awesome battery program found here.

So what other problems do you have?

As I said, the mini-battery or capacitor is extremely hard to replace. I doubt a company would do such a thing.
