Aximsitex50icon Axim x51v power issue

Hello Everyone: I NEED HELP.
I have a Axim x51v.

I remembered reading about a sync problem but needed to charge PDA. My laptop recognized device 1st time, but not since. Now, device won't turn on.

I've tried: removing battery; reset button on back; check hold button; with & without CF; tried adding new hardware; downloaded & installed Active Sync 4.5; tried Dell Axim CD, couldn't find **appmgr.exe; device still not recognized; light on when connected; battery fully charged.

I can't wait to optimize my system like others I've seen here. I really need some help. It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. : Hope to hear soon.

What OS are you running?

You use Windows Mobile Device Center for Vista. Activesync for XP.

You also install these first before hooking up the Axim to your computer.

I'm confused. Are you saying your AX won't power up? Or, be recognized by your laptop?

What color is the light when it's connected. Green is fully charged. Amber is charging.

Hello. Thanks so much for responding to my issue. I miss using my PDA very much.
To answer your questions:
OS: WM 6 on PDA; XP on laptop
I will go to the site & install the ActiveX. I have it already but maybe I need to update it to sync up.

My AX will not power up! It is completely disabled.
I have other ways to charge my AX now. It is completely charged, green light.

The first time I hooked up my AX to my laptop. The plug-n-play feature initially recognized the device & popped up "Dell Axim x51v." I hit the X to close the window because I had read on this site the issues of communication prior to connecting. At the time I had not received my cradle & my car charger was on the blink so that is the only reason I connected it to my Dell Inspiron 9400. Now, my device will not even power up.

I apologize for the delay in response to your questions. I will monitor this site more closely.

I am creating a Corporate Entity. I am also looking for professionals who may be of assistance. Post here. Let's talk.

Think I got the solution.

Connect your Axim.
Open up Activesync on your desktop
On your Axim, go to Programs-->Activesync
Press Sync button on lower-left corner.

Is the lock button on the side in the unlocked position? If nothing works, that's always the first thing I check.
