White screen after battery change

Am getting white screen of death after putting in a new battery on my Axim X51. Charged it up, turned it on and nothing but white screen. Tried soft and hard reset, still nothing. Do see DELL symbol for an instant on power up.
Suggestions I haven't tried are removing battery for an hour or so , then reinstalling and trying what is called bootloader where you push and hold the power, wifi and then tap the reset.

Do not put it in the cradle when you turn it on (Use the reset button to turn it on)

There is a fix for this, but I don't see how you can apply it with a white screen.

I remember I had a x50v that did this and as solved by flashing from the bootloader.

Re-flashing should be used as last resort.

X51 battery removal isn't like a Hard Reset, but it does fix some common problems.

First just try taking the battery out for a while.
Clean the contacts and put it back in.
Pencil Eraser will clean contacts quite well.
