rspall, to answer to your questions:

1. It is personal opinion. Personally, I think WM6 is faster and more stable than WM5.

2. You can take a look at WM6+ ROM reviews here.

3. It's mainly speed. It's "customary" that you get a WM5 bootloader before upgrading to WM5.

OK, I bought a replacement unit which has the WM2003 bootloader on it. I then SUCCESSFULLY upgraded the OS to WM5 / A17:

DiAd_K_AximX51v_WM5_M17EN.nb0

SO if I understand correctly, I should upgrade the bootloader to the WM5 bootloader?

The reason for this is to get better performance in WM5 V 17?

What sort of performance increase should I see (i.e. is it worth the risk?).

I WILL NOT TOUCH MY BOOTLOADER UNTIL I AM 100 PERCENT CERTAIN OF THE BENEFITS AND HOW TO DO IT PROPERLY!
