Sandisk's Carmella Lyman to Microsoft...

I have just as many Sandisk players as I do Zunes also, 3 each. I hate to see either of them lose. </p> <p>Well just to make it fun, I will make a promise too. If Carmella has to shave her head (even if she doesn't actually follows through), I will go out and get a Zune Tattoo on my left arm. Seriously. Let me know Carmella. </p> <p>Good Luck Carmella.</p> <p>Source : <a href="http://blogs.zdnet.com/Berlind/?p=820" target="_blank">ZDnet</a> via <a href="http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/zune/sandisk-pr-spokesperson-vows-to-shave-head-if-zune-is-2-this-christmas-308915.php" target="_blank">Gizmodo</a></p><P><P><a href="http://mobilitysite.com/?p=7465">View Original Blog Post</a>

I love competiton. Competition is great for the consumer. We have some great products and innovation coming down the pipe. I hope she doesn't have to shave her pretty hair either, but maybe you can convince her to get a Zune tattoo instead!

I consider this a good news. Basically the Zune Hardware is not bad at all. But the software sucks. I waiting to see what is coming now with the Zune 2.

There are things in the iPod software that are little details but those are what people love. Example. I love to go to bed listening around 20 minutes of music. In my iPod I can select any of my play list and then go into the clock menu and select how long I want this section to last. I do not have that option in zune. The only thing I can do is to create a quick list with a few songs adding the time until I reach the desired time. Come On!

The other problem I have with Zune is the Sync. For example, I have many albums with the same tittle (Greatest Hits). Zune gets confused and assigns the same art work to all of them.

I have my music library in a NAS. When I added my folders to Zune the first time I had the NAS connected via USB to my PC, and I had it assigned the letter M to it. I had it connected using the USB thinking that the whole process of copying all files to my Zune was going to be faster than if I did that having the NAS connected to the network. Well, that was a bad idea. When I finished syncing the Zune, I connected back my NAS to the network and mapped it as M. The same letter. This trick works perfectly with iTunes. Well, it does not work with Zune. It sees my library in two locations M and \\nas\my music. The result is that every time I changed anything in a file, it gets listed two times. One in M and another in \\nas\my music. In conclusion, I had to end cleaning the library and start the whole process again but this time having the NAS connected to the network. A solution that I do not like because If I move my files to a new NAS I'll have to be sure that I have everything named in the same way to make it work.

Other things that I do not like from Zune. There is not any way to say how many hours you have of music in a play list. There is not any way to say how many times you have played a file. These are simple things that I love from iPod and I'm sure many other love them too.
