I don't have a Zune yet either... But I do have something I have wanted for a long time. A Zune Blog!

Got Zune is a Blog about the Microsoft Zune. Got Zune has been a long time coming. It's now, finally, alive and kicking. Got Zune will feature news, tips, reviews, and discussion about the Microsoft Zune!

Got Zune will not replace Zune reporting here at Mobilitysite at all. Just like Tiltsite.com, Got Zune will be a lot more detailed than the general Zune Reports we give here. The site will interact with Mobilitysite and will share the same Zune Forums that are already in place at Mobilitysite.

What took you so long?
Well that's a good question and I will be 100% honest. When the original Zune came out, I was really excited. Being a Microsoft MVP, Mobile Devices, this was something was really looking forward to. Here is where it gets kind of sappy. A good friend of mine, Jason Dunn, created Zune Thoughts. Plain and simple, I didn't want to copy nor compete with a friend. I had thought about it but I procrastinated long enough and Jason beat me to the punch. I was really busy with my other sites that I didn't really mind though.

Weeks and months have gone by and as we approach Zune 2 Launch, I really wanted to help the Zune Community with my own gig. I revitalized DAPsite.com (previously DellDJsite.com), but I really didn't want to cram Zune down the throats of a general DAP site. I created another blog with Zune in the title, but it took a week to type it in. So I decided on GotZune.com. Yippee!

My Zune Evangelism has already been noted!
Even though this site is brand new, I have been hot on the trails evangelizing the Zune. When Zune originally launched, I was at the store buying the hell of them. I bought 3 the 1st day. I ended up giving a couple away too.

I covered the launch in detail on Mobilitysite.com and my Youtube videos showed many the glory of the Zune! My Video 1st Look and Microsoft Zune 2nd Look received 1000's of views and I have gotten over 200 emails asking more about Zune and many emails thanking me for turning them on to Zune.

Who is behind Got Zune?
So, far, just a couple of us! Read the About page to see who...

Check out Got Zune!

View Original Blog Post
That looks good, it is an interesting idea that you are creating blogs for each one of these sections and products, it is a good idea but I hope things don't get lost as you continue posting news. I think it should be OK as long as each post is classified in a category. Blogs also make it easier to find content later on in post format. Good luck managing all these. :)

This reminds me of a short story when I was about to buy a Sandisk Extreme 3 CF card. I was at Best Buy, and I wanted to see how much theose best buy people really know. So I asked him a very simple question, what type of CF card is this? Is it a type one or two. He said it was a type 3 because it had exteme 3 on the box. I almost laughed right in front of him...
What does this have to relate to, really nothing. But it does show that people who sell technology (like at Target), are olny there just to get you to buy it... They just know what's on the box... :)
One time, I almost bought a HP PDA there, and I was talking to the sales rep. But then one guy was wanting to buy a PDA too, so the sales rep told him to talk to me.... Very strange. But I think I got him to buy a $350 dollar PDA :D.
Anyways, the new Zune looks very nice. I'm amazed on how cheap it is. I can see this as the new iPod. :)

I bought a brown 30 about a week and a half ago for only $100 shipped, so far I am loving the device, but I don't think I would have paid original price for it.
I have been reading the mobilitysite rss feeds for quite some time, but I have not had any reason to post on the forums lately.... maybe the Zune will change that.
I really should post a review of Zune, since I was the lucky winner of the Pink Zune contest. I've lurked around Aximsite, reading, learning, and exploring my Axim and other mobile and tech toys, but rarely posted. So, here goes.
I did not understand the IPOD craze. It is just a unit with a fraction of what my Axim has. I have music and pictures, Office applications and more... well, if I go on about an Axim I won't be reviewing Zune.
I liked the storage capacity -- even with two cards in Axim, I only have 4 gigs. Now, I put ALL my photos in folders and I can carry them around. I put some of my CD's in, and songs I had downloaded a long time ago. I enjoy the podcasts, and love watching and sharing funny video clips.
A few years ago I purchased a 40 gig Media Player for a "sale" price of $299., It had poor quality picture, was very slow, and was difficult to move around in. It was heavy. This Zune is crisp clear and bright, I can play music with photos, synch smoothly, and it is easy to use.The simplicity is a pleasure.
It is true that it's fun to master the technical aspects of a PPC's programs, but this is the toy for relaxation. I thought I could leave my Axim home when I won my Zune, but I did forget about the addressbook, calendar, passwords, and Bookworm game that I need to keep with me. Fortunately the Zune is small and light enough that I can carry it too.
I don't think my review will persuade anyone to buy a Zune, so I won't quit my job. But, I will continue to read and follow both toys's sites, and the future of so many exciting products.
My experience with the Zune30 reflects what you've said. There's no way this device replaces the PPC in any way - however what it does do it does nicely. Instead of burning the battery on my PPC the Zune runs all day. I would not have spent $200 on the Zune but when Woot.Com had 'em for $99 I figured I'd give it a shot. I toss both it and the PPC in my duffel bag with no problem - they're both easy to carry around.
